Message in a Bottle

An artistic network where international users share their feelings through an artistic format (Poem, Sound, Drawing, Photo, Writing etc.) about homesickness anonymously and receive randomly assigned responses on the same topic.
A message in a bottle is about receiving a mysterious message without any information regarding location or time. By throwing a message in a bottle in the ocean, you are sharing your message without any idea about final destination or future reader.

This collaboration project is independent of big tech companies' influence, it promotes free expression and anonymity something that is becoming rarer and rarer in the online world.

On the left, there is a short video of the test event me and my colleagues have organised where we asked different students to participate by writing a letter on the topic. Moreover, we tested our local network system which is working by connecting your phone to our WiFi page provided by an Arduino. Then you receive a random generated letter on which you can respond and at the end, you are able to upload your contribution.

Put me in a team and I would love to be its leader!

My name is Maraya Ivanova. I am currently a Graphic Design student at Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam. I am very much interested in social related topics and trying to find solutions or spreading awareness in a visual manner by having multidisciplinary approach. Recently, I have discovered my love for coding and making interactive works using different media, such as Arduino. On the other hand, I do want to develop further my passion for book design and binding by experimenting with different materials and techniques.

Collaboration with different artists and designers is important part of my work because every time it enriches me either with a new skill, or a new approach to the topics.
